Continuing on Ephesians 5…

Interesting, I think, that Paul mentions love so prominently in connection with greed.  Love is obviously connected with sex, but not so much with money.  But it would seem that Paul’s aim for us is that we would spend our resources in a way that shows the love of Christ.  How about that – showing Christ’s love with the way that I spend my money.  And not just money, but time, talents, and gifts.  The Christ-centered life is not merely refraining from wrong-doing in every area; certainly, that approach would fail to incite enthusiasm in anyone for any length of time.  No, the Christ-centered life is built upon doing right in every area of life – for the Christian life is a positive endeavor, not only a negative one.
